It is the mission of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. to enhance the quality of life for women and their families in the U.S. and globally through community service, civil, and social action. Our goal is to achieve greater progress in the areas of education, health awareness, and leadership development. Our members, affiliates, staff, and community partners work to create and support initiatives that align with our vision.
CHAPTER HISTORY
Our History
Mu Chapter was originally started in Detroit, Michigan. The chapter was later chartered on October 24, 1946 by Hortense Alexander, Gladys Crumes, Louise Glenn, Phyllis Lewis, Mildred Page, Estelle Pettiford, Juanita Smith and Muriel Walker.

Mu chapter was the 1st National Pan-Hellenic Council organization to be chartered on Ball State's campus. It is also the only single letter chapter on campus as well.
